And we can’t forget about Jack! He is super happy over his new friend, baby Alex but I think he may be a little attention-starved now that the baby has come. No worries though because I will be mid-wifing it up this week and will get an inside look into being a “newborn” parent. I am hoping to document it so stay tuned. It should be interesting!

Hostess

I love playing “Hostess”, especially when I rock the “Hostess-with-the-Mostess” title! As you know, I am currently working towards my Masters in Logistics and Supply Chain Management at Jönköping International Business School. I took on a volunteer job as rep for my student accomodation in order to meet people and add juicy job descriptions to my resume. It has not been an easy task to juggle along with studying, but it has been well worth it, especially when I get to party plan. Recently, another rep and I planned a “farewell/christmas party” for those students who were here on exchange as well as for those who are staying through the upcoming spring term. As you can see below, it was a party well planned and enjoyed by many.

If I could get a job connecting Logistics and Party Planning, I would be one happy cookie! I enjoyed the party and people so much therefore, here is another picture showing you my enthusiasm for a job well done. Enjoy!

A Very Happy Place

This is my very happy place at the moment. As you can see, even Mother Nature approves Just a few days ago, I walked out to cycle to school and discovered this amazing rainbow shining from one end to another over my palace of happiness. Luckily, my camera was ready and this is what I got…a glorious and incredible feeling confirming what I already know about my new home….HAPPINESS!

Why am I so happy? For many reasons, naturally. One, I have countless new friends from all over the world who inspire me on a minute-by-minute basis. Two, I am learning a completely new subject that will carry me into my future. Three, everyone in my family is healthy and happy (knock on wood). Four, I have friends all over the world (i.e. Texas, Germany, Russia, etc.) who continue to keep in touch with me and informed on their daily lives. Five, I love myself. I am feeling healthy and alive and finally starting to lose weight. Six, why not?

If there is one thing I have learned, it is to embrace life as if it were your last day on Earth. Every morning, when I wake up, I am thankful for the good night’s sleep (and for my kitty kisses from Leyla and Louis). As I eat my breakfast, I am thankful for the food going into my belly. As I pedal to school on a warm, sunny day, I am thankful for the legs that push me forward and for the sun warming my skin. As I sit and struggle through lessons filled with new and vital information, I am thankful that I have half of a brain to understand at least one concept . And, at the end of the day, when my friends knock on my door, requesting I join them for whatever activity they have planned, I am thankful for their friendship and warm thoughts. And, let’s be honest, no day is perfect, but if I remember to think of at least one positive thing that has occurred during the day, it was worth it!

Idol and Justin Turner

This is one of my brothers, Justin Turner, who recently tried out for Idol (Swedish version of AmericanIdol)…I am so proud of him and couldn’t be more enthusiastic of his talent and great gift. Love you bro!
